Candied Jalapeno in Syrup

A spicy treat that's perfect for making drinks. Or adding a spot of sweet heat in grilled cheese and salads.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Large Jalapeno Sliced
  • 1/2 tsp Celery Seed
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 cup Apple Cider Vinegar

Method
 

  1. Boil the apple cider vinegar, celery seed and sugar on low heat until the sugar dissolves
  2. Add the jalapeno slices into the syrup and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Retrieve the jalapeno slices and put them into a clean jar.
  4. Reduce the syrup by a third. Pour hot syrup over the jalapeno slices carefully. Cover and let it cool down.
